Taha was a smart and kind five-year-old suffering from both impaired vision and hemiplegia in his left arm and leg due to a brain tumor. We built him a hand splint for nightly use so he could stretch his fingers and wrist and a spring-loaded brace attached to a pair of lightweight sandals to facilitate his ankle movement. When I had him wear the splint and brace, the kind Taha smiled: “Thank you, Mrs. Engineer. I can now clap using my splint and walk more easily using my brace.” His beautiful smile and delightful words made me fall more deeply in love with my job and praise the Lord.
