Occupational therapy for children
CP is a long but effective treatment process that has to be performed persistently to help increase the child’s abilities. Children’s CP orthotic treatment is a type of symptom therapy, meaning that the orthosis is designed and built based on the individual assessment, mobility pattern, muscular power, ankles’ and knees’ position when carrying weight and resting, and therapy goals.

Therapist’s goal in prescribing orthosis for this child:

Controlling muscle strength and stretching calf muscles, providing balance, and focusing on standing and walking exercises
Orthotic treatment:
A pair of AFO at ten degrees dorsiflexion with longitudinal foot support and a 1.0cm heel.
